It’s in a beautiful setting of the Tinée Valley, 2km from Isola village, 19km from the Isola 2000 ski resort and a similar distance from the Auron resort. It has an automated check-in with any problems or queries dealt with very efficiently from a Paris contact number which is given on the check-in machine. The site has tarmac internal roads and 52 sizeable gravel hardstandings separated from one another by trimmed hedges. A main road climbing to the La Bonnette pass (the highest road in Europe) runs along one side of the site and the River Tinée borders the other side. I give it 5 stars for its setting and facilities. BUT - do note that it’s NOT FREE as indicated on this app. To enter you must have a Pass’Etapes card costing €5, which is obtainable at the automatic check-in by the entrance. This is valid for life at all ‘Camping Car Park’ sites, of which there are 400 in France. In addition you must pay an overnight fee, which varies from site to site - this site costs €15 per night including electricity, emptying black and grey water and refilling with fresh water.
